We love a good adventure and summer is the time to get outside and do it all, but summer moves are a staple of family fun. When it's too hot, we're too tired, or we just want to enjoy a great movie as a family, this time together is always time well spent. Although we certainly enjoy the occasional summer blockbuster, we appreciate that Harrisburg and the West Shore has many options for fun summer movies that won't break the bank. Tips for making the most of outdoor summer movies: 1.) It does get chilly after sunset. Bring a blanket and a sweatshirt.2.) Don't forget your lawn chairs or a blanket to sit on. 3.) Bring along some spending money for the concession stand or food trucks. 4.) Bring some bug spray... the light attracts the bugs 5) Don't forget to turn your cell phones off or to vibrate during the movie! 6) Help clean up and be a good neighbor, let's show how grateful we are for these events. |
Fort Hunter Park

Dauphin County Parks and Recreation invite local families to beautiful Fort Hunter Park, Harrisburg to enjoy the annual summer movie series.
Join Dauphin County for music and movie nights under the stars at Fort Hunter Park from June through August. This series will alternate between featuring local live music and family friendly movies. Movies will run every other Friday night throughout the summer, beginning on June 7th. Bring your blanket or lawn chairs to enjoy a movie out under the stars. Check the website for weather cancelations and changes. Bring a picnic basket or popcorn, candy, and beverages are available for purchase to benefit the Friends of Fort Hunter. Alcohol will not be permitted.

Free refreshments are also available while supplies last, but bring some snacks for when they run out. Movies will begin at roughly 8:00 PM, but arrive early for parking. More info available HERE.

Starting June 11th, Regal Movie Theaters are offering $1 Family movies for Summer with their Summer Movie Express Program every week on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 11AM.
